Waco Native and Proven Strategist Jill Anderson to Head Communications for Waco ISD

WACO, TX – Waco ISD is pleased to announce the appointment of Jill Anderson, MBA, APR, as the district’s new executive director of communications. A seasoned communications strategist and proud Wacoan, Anderson brings more than 19 years of experience in nonprofit, municipal and higher education leadership to the role.

Anderson has led teams in marketing, public relations, crisis communications and community engagement across Central Texas. Most recently, she served as senior director for the Baylor Center for School Leadership, where she increased visibility and impact through strategic storytelling, brand development and stakeholder engagement. Her prior roles include director of marketing and communications for Baylor’s School of Engineering and Computer Science and director of public information and communications for the City of Robinson.

A certified Accredited Public Relations (APR) professional, Anderson also holds an executive MBA from Baylor University. She has demonstrated success in managing high-profile campaigns, increasing enrollment and donor engagement, and building data-driven content strategies that connect with diverse audiences.

“Jill Anderson is a dynamic leader whose roots in Waco and deep commitment to education make her an excellent fit for Waco ISD,” said Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer. “Her passion for storytelling, paired with a strategic mindset, will help us elevate our communications and celebrate the remarkable work happening across our schools every day.”

Anderson will lead the district’s efforts in media relations, branding and internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with Waco ISD’s mission of cultivating WISDom, inspiring growth and pursuing excellence in every student.
