WACO, Texas – Waco ISD has announced the promotion of Dr. Ronnita Carridine to Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources, a key leadership role in a district where innovation thrives. Carridine has served the district as Executive Director of Human Resources since 2020, bringing more than 27 years of experience as an educator, principal, mentor, and human capital leader.
In her new role, Carridine will continue to lead the district’s human resources initiatives, including employee engagement, performance management, recruitment and retention, and professional development. She has been instrumental in supporting Waco ISD’s Aspiring Leaders Academy, mentoring campus administrators, and facilitating districtwide HR trainings.
“Dr. Carridine’s commitment to our staff, students, and school communities is evident in every interaction,” Superintendent Dr. Tiffany Spicer said. “Her experience, deep understanding of human capital strategy, and passion for people make her a strong leader for this next chapter.”
Prior to joining Waco ISD, Carridine served as a principal in Fort Worth ISD for nearly two decades, leading sustainable turnaround efforts and receiving statewide recognition for her leadership. She also has experience as an assistant principal, curriculum specialist, and classroom teacher. Her career began in Michigan, and her work has consistently centered on transformation, equity, and continuous improvement.
Carridine holds a Doctorate in Theology from North Central Theological Seminary, a Master of Theological Studies from Brite Divinity at Texas Christian University, a Master of Education in Curriculum & Instruction and Bachelor in Communications, from Temple University. She is active in state and national professional organizations and currently serves on the Creative Waco Board and the SBEC Committee of the Texas Association of School Personnel Administrators.
“I am honored to continue serving Waco ISD in this new capacity,” Carridine said. “I believe in the power of human connection and the importance of creating a culture where all staff feel valued, supported, empowered, and equipped to make a difference for our students.”
Carridine’s promotion reflects Waco ISD’s continued focus on building strong leadership from within and advancing systems that support excellence at every level.
